Funeral services for Sadie Lucile Buck, 90, of Caldwell, were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home, with Brother Roger Kentner officiating.
Burial followed funeral services at the Caldwell Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation was held on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, from 9-11 a.m. before the services.
Mrs. Buck died on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.
Sadie Lucile Buckner was born in Dallas on Dec. 7, 1929, to Walter C. Buckner and Mattie (Richardson) Buckner.
Sadie was married to Caldwell Buck on Oct. 11, 1957, and was blessed with four loving children.
She worked for Baylor University in the Student Affairs department. While she was there, she met Baby Adams and they became very close friends.
Sadie, Baby, and Joann Smith were a group of singers and would travel around Texas to sing at local churches. They were all members of the First Baptist Church of Chilton at the time.
Sadie enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, raising many fruit trees and planting many flowers.
She also loved to sing and was always carrying a tune.
Sadie was proudest to be a grandmother and greatgrandmother and enjoyed spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter C. and Mattie Buckner; her husband, Caldwell Buck; her brothers, Jack F. Buckner, S.J. Buckner, Leonard Buckner, and Walter A. Buckner; and her sister, Lillian Adams.
Sadie is survived by her daughter, Arlene Strong; her sons, Kevin Buck, and wife, Cheryl, Richard Buck, and wife, Joann, and Walter Buck, and wife, Rita; her grandchildren, Cat Strong, Richard Strong, Stacey Gonzalez, and husband, Christopher, Shawn Buck, Zachary Buck, Dylan Buck, Kayla McCollaum, Johnathan McCollaum, Jacob Buck, and Shannon Davis; her great-grandchildren, Sebastian Gonzalez, Corban Gonzalez, Khloe Gonzalez, Annebelle Buck and Nolan Buck; and her sister, Hallie O. Buckner Ramsey.
Pallbearers were Shawn Buck, Zachary Buck, Dylan Buck, Sebastian Gonzalez, Christopher Gonzalez, and Richard Strong.
