Bluejay powerlifters place well at Anderson-Shiro

Last Thursday, Snook boy powerlifters brought home several medals from the Anderson- Shiro Boy LCQ Meet. Results were: * 148-pound weight class: Tristan Yen, first, total weight of 870 pounds -- 320 pounds in the squat, 200 pounds in the bench press and 870 pounds in the dead lift.

Hornets fall 6-2 at home to Academy

The Caldwell Hornets lost to Little River-Academy 6-2 on Monday, Feb. 20, in their opener in Caldwell. The teams were scoreless through four innings before the Bumblebees scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning for a 6-0 lead. Caldwell responded with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Lady Hornets take first at La Grange Tournament

The Caldwell Lady Hornets golf team placed fi rst last Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the La Grange Tournament with a score of 410, their best score of the year. The girls finished ahead of Columbus and La Grange. Leading scorers were Madilyn Schneider, 99, and Ciara Coker, 100.

Lady Hornets host annual SWARM softball tournament

Last week, Caldwell hosted its annual Lady Hornet SWARM Softball Tournament with Number 21 Lexington going undefeated at 6-0. The tournament is a Round Robin Tournament, meaning there is no bracket and every team is guaranteed six games.

Hughson, Chapman place 2nd in Boys A Doubles The Caldwell High School tennis team traveled to Waco last week, competing in the Waco High Spring Tournament, with the duo of Connor Hughson and Waylon Chapman placing second in the Boys A Doubles division.

Somerville Yeguas rallies for 57-53 win over Iola

The Somerville Yeguas rallied in the fourth quarter, and used some heroics from Brandyn Carter in the final seconds to secure a 57-53 win over Iola last Friday in Bryan. The game determined the secondp lace seeding f o r Somerville in playoffs.

CHS hosts first home tennis tournament

The Caldwell tennis team hosted its first ever home tennis tournament last week at Caldwell High School, with the JV playing Thursday and the varsity on Friday.
