Yeguas defeat Snook 13-3 to advance to playoffs

The Somerville Yeguas defeated Snook 13-3 on Monday, May 2, in a one-game playoff in Caldwell to determine the fourth-place slot in District 26-2A and a playoff berth. The Yeguas will play Evadale in a doubleheader for the bi-district playoff starting at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 6, at Willis ISD.

Hornets beat Rogers, win warmup games

The Caldwell Hornets finished district play with a 1-0 home win over Rogers on Tuesday, April 26, and then defeated the Thorndale Bulldogs 9-8 on Friday in Caldwell and Anahuac 9-2 on Monday in warmup games for the upcoming playoffs.

The Snook Bluejays golf team, the District 26-2A champions, placed ninth in the Region IV 2A Golf Tournament on April 18-19 in Corpus Christi. The Bluejays finished with a two-day score of 863, 434 on the first day and 429 on the second day.

The Snook Bluejays lost twice last week to Round Top-Carmine -- falling 5-2 at home on Tuesday, April 26, and 9-5 on Friday, April 29, at Carmine. The Bluejays also lost a one-game playoff to Somerville 13-3 on Monday, May 2, to determine the District 26-2A fourth place spot and a playoff berth.
