The Somerville Yeguas amassed 420 yards of total offense with a balanced attack but missed too many scoring opportunities in a 26-20 road loss last Friday to Anderson-Shiro.

The Snook cross country team ran at the Thrall Cross Country Invitational on Aug. 28 and at the Cooper Dragon Cross Country Invitational in Tomball on Sept. 4. And, Somerville’s Destiny Vela also ran at the Thrall Invitational, placing 18th in the girls’ varsity 2-mile race with a time of 14:40.88.

Snook struggles on offense in 31-6 loss to Thorndale

The Snook Bluejays’ offense struggled with only 46 total yards in a 31-6 road loss to Thorndale last Friday. Snook, now 1-1 after a promising opening win over Kashmere, passed for just 26 yards and ran for 20 as Thorndale’s offensive and defensive lines dominated.

Last week, the Lady Jays lost their two final volleyball matches before they open up district play this Friday against Burton. Last Tuesday, Aug. 31, Snook fell to Anderson-Shiro 25-14, 25-13, 25-11. The Lady Jays were led defensively by Frida Mota with 35 digs and six service received.
