I DROPPED BALL -- I not only dropped the ball when I started to write my column late this year, I fumbled it, kicked it backwards, and almost got sacked in the back of the end zone for a safety. Thank goodness I still have a job! I had good intentions, I really did.

Hornets roll 54-0 at Manor New Tech

The Caldwell Hornets amassed 505 total yards and held Manor New Tech to just 85 in a 54-0 road blitz of the Titans last Friday, getting the Boone Patterson era off to a great start.

Lady Hornets play a marathon match...again!

The Lady Hornets played their fifth fiveset marathon match this season last Tuesday night. This time, Caldwell beat Madisonville in Hornet Gym 23- 25, 25-11, 26-24, 16-25, 15-11. Head coach Jane Anne Giese said, “It shows how much fight is in this group of girls.

Snook pounds away at Kashmere for win

If anyone had any doubts about Snook taking on a 4A team last Friday, the Bluejays emphatically proved their point last Friday in a 43-18 opening win over Kashmere in Snook.

Freshman VB places second in Rockdale

The Caldwell freshman volleyball team placed second at the Rockdale Tournament earlier in the season. The Lady Hornets defeated Thorndale in two sets, 25-13, 25-18 and Holland in two sets 25- 15, 25-20 before losing to Thrall in a nail-biter championship 27-25, 28-26.
