The Lady Jay fans will see a new face on the sidelines during volleyball season -- new head coach Wendy Lueckemeyer. Lueckemeyer comes to Snook after seven years of teaching and coaching. And the Lady Jays are looking forward to their season under new coach Lueckemeyer.

Lexington outscores CHS in scrimmage before opener

The Caldwell Hornets were outscored 3-1 in a Friday controlled scrimmage with Lexington but outscored the Eagles 8-6 in a live half. Each team had two rotations of 12 offensive and 12 defensive plays and then one rotation of 10 offensive and 10 defensive plays.

The Lady Hornet junior varsity volleyball team won the Rockdale JV Tournament last weekend, and the freshman team finished second in the freshman tournament.

CHS team tennis falls to Franklin

The Caldwell tennis team traveled to Franklin last Thursday, losing 8-11. The three Hornet boys doubles teams swept the Franklin boys doubles teams, however Franklin girls doubles swept Caldwell for a 3-3 tie. Then, Franklin’s mixed doubles team beat Caldwell to take a 4-3 lead.

Lady Jays beat Trinity, fall to Navasota

The Lady Jays played in a three-way match last Tuesday night in Navasota against Trinity and the Lady Rattlers. Against Trinity, Snook won in four sets 25-14, 25-15, 22-25, 25-12. Against Navasota, Snook lost in straight sets 16-25, 6-25, 11-25.

The Snook Bluejays were outscored by Rosebud 2-1 in a controlled scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 20, in Snook and battled Ganado to a scoreless tie. In a live quarter against Ganado, Snook was outscored 7-0.

St. Michael’s outscores Yeguas

The Somerville Yeguas were outscored by St. Michael’s Academy last Friday 1-0 in a controlled scrimmage in Austin. In a 12-minute live quarter, the Yeguas were outscored 21-14.
