The Caldwell City Council was to meet on Tuesday, June 16, in executive session to consider the value and possible purchase of 10.33 acres of land at State Highway 36 South.

Heavy rain causes flooding across county

Way too much rain too fast...With reports of rainfall nearing a foot from Sunday evening into Monday morning, Burleson County experienced flooding across the county, prompting several water rescues involving different emergency responding agencies.

Somerville discuss Welch Park sublease

The Somerville City Council deadlocked on a 2-2 vote on Tuesday, June 9, on a request by Welch Park Enterprises to renew its sublease with the city for a 50-year term.Council members Delfino Orozco and Cecily Young voted no, and Jeff Schoppe and Laura Hoover voted yes.

County prepares to celebrate Juneteenth

The Burleson County Juneteenth Association is set to host Juneteenth celebrations on Saturday, June 20, beginning at 10 a.m. with a parade in downtown Caldwell and culminating in a vendor fair and community celebration at the Burleson County Expo Center kicking off at 11 a.m.
