Caldwell names finalist for city admin position

The Caldwell City Council has named a lone finalist for the city administrator position and authorized Mayor John Rychlik and the city’s HR department to proceed with negotiations.A final announcement of the candidate will be released once the official contract is signed.

Woman dies in fire at SW trailer

An 83-year-old woman died on Friday, July 24, in a fire that destroyed her home in Somerville Place Subdivision off Park Road 4, and the cause of the fire remains unknown and under investigation.

Man charged in agg assault case

A Somerville man was arrested on Monday, July 27, on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge in connection with an attack on another man with a fence post.

AgriLife shares guidance for flood-damaged hay

Following extensive flooding across portions of Texas, experts with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service are encouraging producers to document damage and err on the side of caution when dealing with hay exposed to floodwaters or heavy rain.

Man charged in felony DWI case

A Caldwell man was arrested by a DPS trooper on Tuesday, July 14, on a charge of felony driving while intoxicated/third or more following a twovehicle accident on State Highway 21 West near County Road 104.

CORRECTION

Due to a clerical issue with a Caldwell police accident report, an error was made in the identification of a man who was one of the drivers in a July 10 accident on State Highway 21 West.
