A North Carolina man was arrested on Sunday, April 5, on a state jail felony charge of possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than 1 gram, following a traffic stop in Caldwell.

Barn dance for Hayley’s Halo set for April 19

Local non-profit organization Hayley’s Halo is set to host a barn dance at the Caldwell Civic Center on Sunday, April 19, from noon until 6 p.m to give the community a chance to learn more about the organization.

Somerville ISD has two trustee seats up for election: the two seats currently held by Keith Howe and Kim Casanova.Howe, Casanova, Sandy Thompson and Brian Healy have filed for those seats.Howe has served on the board since 2020.

County gets some drought relief

Burleson County received up to 6 inches of rain late last week to help relieve the current drought situation -- approximately 4 inches on Thursday and another 2 inches on Saturday.However, residents in the Somerville area were alerted to an EF-0 tornado in the area during one of the needed rains.

County prepares for Chilifest

Chilifest Music Festival organizers are gearing up for this weekend’s Chilifest.The two-day music festival will be held this Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, at The Legendary Snook Rodeo & Starlight Ballroom.

Chamber to hold candidate forum

In addition to The Tribune’s candidate forums for the May 2 city and school elections, the Burleson County Chamber of Commerce is holding a candidate forum for City of Caldwell residents to get to know its mayoral and council candidates.
