A service to celebrate the lives of Drew Batiste, 26, and Trevor Batiste, 18, both of Dime Box, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the Diamond IVenueinDimeBox.
Drew Bailey Batiste was born on June 12, 2000, in Austin, and Trevor Wayne Batiste was born on April 16, 2008, in La Grange.
They were the sons of Gerald and Rebecca (Haas) Batiste.
Both attended Dime Box High School where they excelled in basketball.
Drew graduated in 2018 and Trevor this past May.
BothwereemployedatJ7 Services, LLC in Caldwell where Drew was a heavy equipment operator and crew foreman and Trevor had just started.
Drew and Trevor were always together since little on. Where one was, so the other was as well.
They enjoyed riding horses and roping, hunting, bow fishing, playing basketball and riding dirt bikes.
They will be remembered as having the biggest hearts and always helping anyone they could.
Drew and Trevor died the way they lived their entire lives, together, the morning of Sunday, July 26, 2026, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Dime Box.
The fact that one never had to live without the other is the one thing that brings their family comfort following their tragic loss.
They were preceded in death by their brother, Joshua Batiste; their grandparents, James and Mildred Batiste and Joseph Haas; and their great-grandmother, Nancy Augustine.
Drew and Trevor are survived by their parents, Gerald and Rebecca Batiste of Dime Box; their siblings, Deandrea Sheppard and his wife, Sarah, of Caldwell, Shania Mededris and her husband, Markist, of Bryan, Gerald Batiste Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Dime Box, Amanda Batiste of Bryan, and Steve Batiste of Bryan; Drew’s son, Zayden Batiste and his mother, Cailey Bera of Elgin; grandparents, Suzanna Haas Medack and Cotton Medack of Loebau; uncles and aunts, Joseph III and Andrea Haas of Tennessee, Feleasha and Danny Sherfy of Virginia, William Roy Haas of Giddings, Ronald “Red” Batiste of Dime Box, and Donnie and Trish Batiste of Caldwell; Trevor’s girlfriend, Nia, of Dime Box; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made to help the family offset final expenses.
