Hubbard resigns as Demo Chair elect

Garrett Hubbard, elected in March as the Burleson County Democratic Party chairman, is stepping down before officially taking over on June 15.Hubbard, citing conflicts within the local Democratic Party, was to have replaced Linda Adair and had yet to be sworn in.

Flags raised in honor of Police Week

A U.S. and Texas Flag were raised on Tuesday, May 12, at the Burleson County Courthouse in a ceremony honoring National Police Week.The ceremony honored all law officers in the county and nationwide who serve and those who have lost their lives while serving.

A Caldwell area woman was arrested on Wednesday, April 29, on a felony burglary charge in connection with two small dogs taken from a residence on County Road 170.

A Brenham woman was arrested on Sunday, May 3, on a felony drug possession charge by a Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Warden near the Lake Somerville Boat Ramp.
