Taxable values mostly increase

Six of the 10 taxing entities in Burleson County saw taxable property value increases in the recently released Certified Tax Roll. The roll was released in late July by the Burleson County Appraisal District.

SISD to allow homeschool UIL participation

For the first time, Somerville ISD is allowing homeschool students the opportunity to participate in UIL activities.

Caldwell hires West as new city administrator

The Caldwell City Council approved the employment contract of Charles West as the new city administrator at a called meeting on Monday, August 3, at 5:30 p.m.

AG’s office probes puppies company

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has opened an investigation into Lone Star Pups, LLC, of Caldwell, saying that they mislead consumers about the origin and veterinary care of the puppies they sell.

Man arrested on drug charge

A 30-year-old Dallas man was arrested on Sunday morning, July 26, on a felony drug possession charge after a Burleson County sheriff’s deputy’s traffic stop on F.M. 50.
