The Snook Bluejays football team is starting over with a new head coach for 2026 and a renewed focus on getting some victories.The Bluejays switched to a JV schedule in midseason last year due to injuries early in the season and the school district’s concern for the safety of the remaining players.

Tribute to Thomas horse show raises over $10k for family

The Tribute to Thomas Horse Show, held in honor of Thomas Clifford, was hosted at the Buddy & Edile Lightsey Arena in Caldwell on Saturday, Aug. 1.The show followed a Friday, July 31, clinic, also at Lightsey Arena, and aimed to raise money for Clifford’s fiancée, Rachel Williams.

Snook Youth Track competes at TAAF Games of Texas

SnookYouth Track Club athletes were some of the over 8,000 amateur athletes competing in around a dozen different sports over July 30 through Aug. 2 in Bryan and College Station during the 2026 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF) Games of Texas.
The first day of volleyball practice was Saturday, with many Lady Hornets happy to be back on the court.

Monica Paul has not lived in Caldwell for several years, but the lessons she learned from her hometown have helped form her into who she is today.The daughter of Alvin and Helen Paul of Caldwell, Paul learned her work ethic from her parents and from those relationships she created along the way.
