Lady Hornets fall to Robinson 3-1 in Area Round

The Lady Hornets’ softball season has come to an end at the hands of the defending Class 4A Division 2 state champions: the Lady Rockets of Robinson, losing 3-1.The game was a strong pitchers duel where both Caldwell’s pitcher Samone Clark actually out-pitched Robinson’s Raelynn Van Zee.

Ferguson competes at regional track meet

Caldwell’s Lucy Ferguson competed in the girls high jump at last week’s UIL Class 4A Region 3 Track & Field Meet.The event was held at Bullard High School.

CHS sports award winners recognized

The Caldwell High School’s athletic award winners were announced on Sunday, May 3, at the Varsity Sports Athletic Banquet, hosted by the Caldwell Athletic Booster Club.Award winners were announced in all sports for the 2025-26 school year.

The Lady Hornets had an easy time getting past Katy Freeman in the first round of the UILClass 4A Division 2 Softball Playoffs -- putting the sting to the Lady Golden Eagles, winning 20-0.

Lady Yeguas fall to Danbury in bi-district

It took Danbury two games to best Somerville in a best 2-out-of-3 series last week and advance to the Area softball play-off round.Both games were played last Friday in Jersey Village.In the first game, Somerville lost to Danbury 10-0.

The Yegua tennis team had several athletes compete at the UIL Class 2A Region 4 Tennis Tournament at the HEB Tennis Center in Corpus Christi last week.In girls singles, Anette Reyna advanced to the regional quarterfinal round, falling to Jennifer Arellano of Shiner 1-6, 0-6.

Somerville wins season finale

The Somerville Yeguas defeated Milano 12-2 in their season finale last Friday in a home game relocated to Snook.Somerville needed consecutive victories over Milano on Wednesday, April 22, and Friday, April 24, to make the playoffs, but the Yeguas lost at Milano 3-0 in the Tuesday game.

Caldwell falls 13-3 in finale with Bellville

The Caldwell Hornets lost to Bellville 13-3 last Friday, April 24, at home in their regular season finale.Caldwell fell to 1113-1 overall and 3-7 in district play.Caldwell trailed 3-0 in the first inning before rallying with a 2-run second inning.
