Johnie Lee Perry, 75, of Caldwell, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2022, after a twentyyear battle with Parkinson’s disease. He fought hard, but with love, surrounded by family and friends that gave him strength. A public visitation was held in his honor at 9:00 a.m.

Evelyn Marie Vykukal Verwold, known for her fun, cheerful disposition and for going the extra mile for family or friends, died peacefully on July 16, 2022. Her husband, Gene, was by her side holding her hand.

Mark Alan Cochran, 57, of Caldwell passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, in Caldwell. A Celebration of Mark’s Life was held July 18, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Elizabeth Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Brunk officiating.

Phil David Perry, 72, of Caldwell, Texas, entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, and what a joyous reunion it must have been! A public visitation was held in his honor on Sunday, July 17, 2022, in the chapel at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.

JAMES VAVRA

James Joseph Vavra, 62, of Caldwell, was born March 26, 1960, in Cameron, Texas, to James Joe and Bobbie Vavra. He worked as a diesel mechanic and road construction. In his younger years, James really enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Edmund Dee Perry, 88, of Caldwell, Texas, departed this life on Monday, July 11, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. A Rosary was held on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Caldwell, Texas, followed by a funeral Mass.

MATTIE NOVOSAD

A memorial service for Mattie Pauline Kornegay Novosad, 90, of Caldwell, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mattie was born on Dec. 27, 1931, to Pauline Cox Kornegay and Tom Kornegay.

Johnie Lee Perry was born on July 7, 1947. He died on Monday, July 11, 2022. He was a rancher. Johnie graduated from Texas A&M University, and was an Aggie through and through. He loved all his friends, and all who knew him loved him. He was a member of the Cowboy Church in Caldwell.
